Vortex Truck and Equipment was created by the owners of an Alabama based tree and debris removal company. In 1989 we acquired our first grapple truck. We let an equipment dealer with no experience build the unit. Two weeks after picking it up the truck frame broke in half. For our fledgling business it was a major setback, but one that taught us the importance of getting it right. We've been building our own trucks ever since, and since 2003 we've been building trucks for other companies.
When you accept a grapple truck from Vortex Truck and Equipment, you get 17 years of in the field research and development. Our debris contracting company has picked up over 5 million cubic yards of vegetative, construction and demolition debris. Basically, we've seen it all.
After being asked how he felt about failing two thousand times to build a light bulb, Thomas Edison replied that he had not failed, but invented two thousand ways not to build it. Well, we know how not to build your truck based on hard work, hard lessons and creative design, like Mr. Edison, not just a hunch made by some guy in some far flung shop. Our Vortex Team is dedicated to designing and assembling your unit in the most professional way possible. What you will get from us is a truck just like the ones we build for our own company — proven in the field.
